Addiction To Video Games and Violence Connected

Video Games are addicting and things can happen to cause violent acts on other or themselves. People are getting to into the games. They are losing touch on reality and that is causing turmoil on the way people live life. Take for example the issue when a online game called Legend of Mir 3 was played. Report of a man named Qui Chengwei stabbed the the player he had won the game with, Zhu Caoyuan, to death over a online trade of a virtual weapon. Qui was mad that the trade of his virtual sword was done by Zhu for some money. (Haines )

There are other connections to Video Games and real world violence that is not violent but creepy that it happens. In a way the violent act of two parents leaving their child unattended for four hours to play World of Warcraft, only to have it die at home alone. The man who stayed in a Cafe for 50 hours playing a MMORPG suddenly died in his chair and collapsed to the floor. For a Young Teenage Boy who took his life after his mother said he was addicted to the video games Everquest. The teenage committed suicide because of what his mom said. These were all not violent but violent in nature. In every last one someone died due to video game addiction. Lives were lost due to the carelessness and neglect of these people. All of that could have been avoided if they all realized they were addicted to video games. They should have looked for help with there addictions. (Kuefler )

The fact that all of these stories that linked video games and the real world together is a point that people are committing acts of violence against others. The question is if there is a true link to the act committed by these people and the world of video games and violence related to those video games whether they are violent shooters or action based racing games.

I agree with the writer that video games can be addicting to some people. I believe that it is possible to be 2 into a video game and also i think it is possibe that a video game addict can start to believe that the game is reality. The writer had good examples to back up is topic.
